COLUMBUS — Ohio Senate President Larry Obhof recently announced the reappointment of State Senator Bill Beagle (R-Tipp City) to the Ohio Aerospace and Aviation Technology Committee, also appointing Beagle as chairman of the committee through the end of the 132nd Ohio General Assembly.
Comprised of military leaders, academic experts and top industry innovators, the committee is focused on developing a statewide economic development strategy based on collaboration within the industry.
“Aviation and aerospace is not just a hallmark of Ohio’s past, it’s also an important part of a robust economic future,” Beagle said. “I look forward to building on our efforts to ensure that Ohio remains at the forefront of this vibrant, rapidly evolving industry.”
More than 100,000 are employed in the aerospace and aviation industry, a large portion of which is associated with Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Private and public aerospace and aviation entities invest more than $10 billion annually in engineering research and development.
Formed in 2014, the committee is charged with developing a singular strategy geared to support and enhance Ohio’s robust aerospace and aviation industry.
