TROY — Miami Montessori School celebrated National School Choice Week on Jan. 22-28.
Students donned their yellow scarves in support of the Miami Montessori School.
“We believe our school offers a rich curriculum to our students,” said Sharon Prais, head of school.
Integrated throughout the Montessori curriculum is an emphasis on the development of mutually respectful relationships, compassion, and other humanistic qualities, Prais said. Children are encouraged to become independent critical thinkers, ask provocative questions, develop multicultural awareness, and adapt to new situations, she said.
“In following these ideals, we are dedicated to fostering the growth of confident, responsible, and adaptive citizens who are lifelong learners and creative problem-solvers,” Prais said.
School Choice Week ended on a positive note with a posting from former parent, David Ring, saying “I just wanted to make all of you aware of the fact that all four of last year’s sixth year students who moved on to Tippecanoe Middle School are on the Principal’s List, (all A’s) this quarter. Thank you so much for all of the countless tools you’ve given them for success both now and for their entire lives!”
