Plowing through their art

Anthony Weber | Troy Daily News Students of Jill Hartman’s art class, including Blake Whitford, Delaney Fields, Sada Warner, Grace Hartman, Katie Castaneva, Miranda Houshel, Lauren Garlow and Mikayla Dixson, design a snow plow blade using acrylic paint this week at Troy High School. The crew from THS designed the plow with several ideas reflecting a silhouette of Troy and area landmarks with a sky inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s “A Starry Night.” Students from District 7’s nine counties have been asked to participate in the third annual Paint a Plow Blade program. The program allows the Ohio Department of Transportation to promote awareness of ODOT’s ice and snow operations and to promote public safety. The blades will be mounted on plow trucks and may be seen in local parades, county fairs and festivals during summer months.
