One Voice, One Pinwheel

Anthony Weber | Troy Daily News Employees of Miami County Children’s Services, including Amy Waters and Deb Swallow, display pinwheels that reflect 448 investigations of abuse and neglect in Miami County in 2015 in front of the Troy-Miami County Public Library. Each pinwheel represents both a child abuse investigation in 2015 and the number of those who have advocated for children by bringing concerns of abuse to the attention of the agency. While April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, Miami County Children’s Services encourages the community to get engaged by uploading a selfie with a pinwheel using any social media to promote awareness to child abuse and prevention at #pinwheelselfie.
