Staff reports

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, the second annual Miami County Food Truck Rally and Competition was held on Saturday, May 21.

Saturday’s rally drew 43 food trucks from all over the area — about a dozen more than last year — and thousands of hungry visitors.

In the competition, winning a choice of a Hobart slicer, mixer or food processor, was Tin Roof Mobile Food. In second place was Nourish U, winning a Honda EU 2000i generator. Visitors to the event were also asked to vote for a People’s Choice winner. This award, along with a Kroger gift card, went to Nacho Pig.

Sponsored by the Miami County Fair Board, proceeds from the event will go to help make improvements to the fairgrounds, along with continuing the upkeep of the grounds. The rally also is a time to showcase the buildings the fairgrounds has available to rent, according to organizer Roberta Jacobs.
