Ludlow
Falls is
home of one of the best-known scenic areas in Miami
County.
In fact, the village of Ludlow Falls takes a
back seat in recognition to the falls themselves.
The falls are the site of a yearly Christmas
lighting display which is made up of thousands
of lights. The display was started in 1949 and is
now managed by the Ludlow Falls Fire Department. It
regularly attracts over 100,000 visitors each year
during the month-long lighting.
Ludlow
Falls gets its name from Israel Ludlow, an early
19th century surveyor. As early as 1803, there were
seven people living at the site.
Ludlow
Falls also is home of a church campground. First
used in 1899, the campground is the location for
various meetings during the summer months.
