WEST MILTON — For the second year in a row, Milton-Union boasts one of the top girls soccer players in the Southwestern Buckeye League Buckeye Division. For the second time in three years, the volleyball team does, as well, in addition to the league’s top coach.

Danielle McFarland, Michaela Fullmer and Bill Ginn all took the highest honors when the All-SWBL Buckeye teams were announced at the end of fall season, a season that saw great success for many of the Bulldogs’ teams.

* Volleyball

Milton-Union senior Michaela Fullmer, who led the SWBL Buckeye Division in kills this past season, was named the Player of the Year, and Bill Ginn was named the Coach of the Year after the team won a share of the division title, sharing it with Waynesville.

Fullmer and Lauren Craig both earned first team honors, Anna Willson was named to the second team and Olivia Brown and Sarah Motz earned honorable mention.

In 2013, Kinsey Douglas was the Player of the Year in the division.

* Girls Soccer

Junior Danielle McFarland — the leading goal scorer in the SWBL Buckeye Division this season — was named C0-Player of the Year alongside Waynesville’s Brooke Lezotte.

McFarland, who also scored the game-winning goal in overtime in the Bulldogs’ 1-0 victory over Greeneview in the Division III sectional championship game, was joined on the first team by teammate Madison Brandon. Alayna Bennett and Sierra Gostomsky were named to the second team and Maddie Brown and Kristin Dickison earned honorable mention.

McFarland was the second Bulldog to win the award in a row — in 2014, Matison Jackson was the division’s Player of the Year.

* Football

After a runner-up finish in the SWBL Buckeye Division and the team’s first playoff berth since 2012, the Milton-Union football team had five players named first team all-conference.

Joey Swafford, Austin Menker, Keaton Lucous, Keifer Jones and Jacob Hill all were named to the first team. Zach Bambic, Kaleb Rue and Zac Shields were all named to the second team and Chris Dunn and Michael Hammond earned honorable mention.

* Cross Country

After a season that saw a berth in the Division III state race, the Milton-Union boys cross country team had five runners earn first team honors in the SWBL Buckeye Division.

Will Brock, Liam Godin, Colton Graumen, Shannon Milnickel and River Spicer all earned spots on the first team, while Luke Ferguson, Harrison Litton, Ryan Moore and Sam Motz each earned second team honors.

For the girls, Lauren Meredith and Megan Trittschuh earned first team honors, and Kayla Blanton, Haily Bohse, Brianna Collins, Kiley Jacobe, Katie Litton and Kyli Parsons all earned second team honors.

* Boys Soccer

Seniors Justin English and Wyatt Robertson both earned first team All-SWBL Buckeye honors for the boys soccer team. Keltonn Dillhoff and William Heisey were named to the second team and Andrew Besecker and Braden Smith both earned honorable mention.

* Tennis

Ashley Wombold and Abby Hissong, Milton-Union’s tennis team’s first and second singles players, respectively, both earned second team All-SWBL Buckeye honors. The first doubles team of Anna Brown and Caitlin Bushelman earned honorable mention.

* Boys Golf

Bulldog boys golfers Greyson Galentine and Parker Puthoff each earned spots on the All-SWBL Buckeye second team, and Philip Brumbaugh earned honorable mention.
