MIAMI COUNTY — Three Miami County boys soccer plays earned first-team All-Ohio honors this season.

For one of them, it was the first time in his school’s history.

Troy Christian’s Jon Slone became the first Eagle to earn a spot on the All-Ohio first team, with Troy’s Grant Holland and Tippecanoe’s Mitch Colvin also earning first team honors in their respective divisions as a total of six area boys and two area girls were given All-Ohio honors this past fall season.

Slone led the Eagles with 34 goals and 14 assists this season for a total of 82 points, leading Troy Christian to its first ever Division III sectional championship and district championship. The Eagles were finally eliminated by Summit Country Day, the top-ranked team in the state, in the regional semifinal and finished with a 16-2-2 record.
