Highway dedication to honor Sgt. Robert Elliott

Robert Elliott served Miami County and gave the ultimate sacrifice and this month a stretch of highway will be dedicated to his memory.State Route 41, from Covington to Troy, will be dedicated in honor of Miami County Sheriff Sgt. Robert Elliott on Aug. 17.Elliott was killed in the line of duty on Feb. 25, 1987. He was shot and killed with his own weapon while guarding a prisoner at Stouder Hospital. A dedication ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. Aug. 17 at the First Lutheran Church, located at 2899 State Route 41, Troy.
