In 2008, the Troy Daily News celebrated its 100th anniversary. As part of Civitas Media, the Troy Daily News is proud to represent the city of Troy as well as coverage in the neighboring communities within Miami County.
Besides publishing its six-day daily, the Troy Daily News also provides special sections and special pages for events such as the Troy Strawberry Festival, the Festival of Nations and celebrations in neighboring ?communities as well.
In 2014, the Troy Daily News, in conjunction with the city of Troy, is helping to celebrate the cities' Bicentennial year, running historical information throughout the year and participating in the culmination event, set for September.
The Troy Daily News shares coverage with Piqua Daily Call on several local schools and their sports teams, as well as county courts and other county news. The two newspaper staffs also collaborate on the Miami County Community Guide and the newspapers' Progress editions, as well as coverage for the Miami County Fair.
The Troy Daily News has been honored over the years for its reporting, design and photography by the Associated Press Society of Ohio. The most recent award was presented in May 2014, where the newspapers was honored with second place General Excellence among papers its size in Ohio, along with having the best sports section in the state. Staff also received individual awards for writing, layout/design and photography.
