To the Editor:
There are no words that can adequately express our gratitude to all who have or are continuing to help our family in the wake of the tragic loss of our son Liam.
We are both overwhelmed and humbled by the support which has and continues to come in. We do not have the ability at this time to thank each of you individually, but know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers. If we were to try to mention everyone who has helped us in some way, we would inadvertently miss someone and we do not intend to hurt anyone. However, we would like to say thank you to Baird’s Funeral Home, The city of Troy Police Department, St. Patrick’s Church/School, Troy City Schools and the thousands of countless acts of kindness shown to our family.
We will soon be working with the Troy Foundation, and other groups, to give back to the community which has shown us so much love. Donations that are left in Liam’s memorial account, after funeral expenses, will be used for the people of our community. Be proud in the knowledge that Troy is a special place to raise a family.
As a family we have our differences, but at the end of the day we are still one family. Not just Gillespie strong, but Troy strong.
