Humanity calls for truth, sanity to be restored

At long last I have, again, picked up my pen hoping I can be of some good, some enlightening, some guidance to my country. My countrymen call, all humanity calls for truth and sanity to be restored.

Hopefully, many people will be awakened and energized as I appeal to their better angels wit this publication, for the situation in the Middle East is in an uproar.

Now comes the question, “How do we handle President Obama’s efforts via John Kerry and other countries with this problem to avoid war in Iran?”

Time is of the essence for the War Hawks are circling in Washington, D.C. They do not plan to be deterred!

Nearly 11 years ago in 2004 I wrote and submitted a long letter regarding our war in Iraq and what had led up to it. My letter was not published (partisan politics?)

Had that letter been distributed as this one may well be on the web, the election could have had a different outcome and many, now dead, would live. May we now act to promote peace and sanity!

In that letter of Oct. 2004, I referred to a then recent book be Pat Buchanan entitles, “Where the Right Went Wrong.” It explained a whole lot and today, in retrospect, I see it as “right on.” Please let me report.

Buchanan stated that the Bush administration had been hijacked by a group of neo-conservatives who had been referred to by the Washington Times as “The Vulcans.” They were recruited by then Vice President Dick Cheney and then Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice to help Bush run the defense and foreign relations apparatus of the United States.

According to Buchanan, there is a clique of foreign policy experts, specialists, and writers who see the United States’ and Israel’s interests as identical. They were in charge of Bush’s M.S. policy since Bush was sworn in. You can be sure the element is still active.

On Jan. 26, 1998, writes Buchanan, President Clinton received a letter urging him to declare for the overthrow of Saddam Hussein to be the aim of American foreign policy as a necessary endeavor. The signers included neo-conservatives Elliot Abrams, Bill Bennett, John Bolton, Robert Kagan, William Kristol, Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz, and Donald Rumsfeld, who later was with the Pentagon.

Four years before 9/11 they had publicly called for the invasion of Iraq. 9/11 turned out to be the pre-text for a war they had been devising for a decade.

In another article I read, “The vision is to knock off Iraq, Iran, Syria, countries that could get in the way of Israel expelling the Palestinians to Jordan, then grabbing Lebanon as well.”

I stated in 2004 that to pursue this insane agenda of conquering and occupying the Middle East was entirely mad. I add 14 years later, “It is so entirely un-American.”

Since 2004 I have read many books, most recently “All the Shah’s Men: An American Coup and the Roots of Middle East Terror” by Stephen Kinzer.

This book reveals how the United States and England with the leadership of Eisenhower and Churchill overthrew the government of Iran, a democracy, to set up a new government. Thes was in 1953, 62 years ago!

The Iranian president, Mohammad Mosaddegh, well loved and respected by his people, had moved to nationalize the lucrative oil fields of Iran, booting out the looting foreign interests. This was not to be tolerated by Winston Churchill and he appealed to then President Trumn to join in a coup d’etat against President Mohammad Mosaddegh.

President Truman declined, stating that the United States had never been involved in the overthrow of a foreign government and he was not the president to do so.

Newly elected Dwight D. Eisenhower successor and recently elected in 1952 saw it differently and the successful coup displaced Mosaddegh and placed Mohammad-Rezā Shāh on the Peacock Throne, inspiring tyranny which led to the Islamic Revolution in 1979.

This explained the festering hate leading to the attack on the Twin Towers as sweet revenge. It also explains today’s feverish political maneuvering in our Capital.

Please force the speaker of the house, John Boehner, to act properly toward and allow the voice of the American people to be heard.

Harry Truman left this bit of wisdom and I quote, “There is nothing new in the world except the history you do not know.”

Now you know.
