Community health fair set

TROY — A community health fair will be held at First Place Christian Center, 16 W. Franklin Street, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 30. The health fair is free and open to the public.

Free health screenings will be available. There will be over 30 booths, which will provide education and information on health topics such as: sun damage, sleep disorders, restless leg syndrome, blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chiropractic and wellness services by Dr. Jeff Studabaker, eye health by Primary Eye Care and oral health with the Miami County Dental Clinic.

Dreams and nightmares explored at Lifetree Café

TROY — The cause, meaning, and importance of dreams and nightmares will be discussed at the Lifetree Café at 7 p.m. on Monday May 2.

The program, titled “Dreams and Nightmares: The Science Behind the Stories of Your Mind,” features a filmed interview with Dr. William Moorcroft author of “Understanding Sleep and Dreaming.”

Day of Prayer services scheduled

TIPP CITY — The Tipp City National Day of Prayer service will be held at noon on Thursday, May 5. It will be held in the parking lot of Tipp City United Methodist Church at the corner of Third and Main Streets. The service will last about 45 minutes.

Prayers will be offered by laity and clergy, and there will be participation from those who gather for the service. Topics include religious freedom, family, schools and education, elections, government, and world events. The theme for this year’s gathering is “Wake up, America.”

Rummage sale set

TROY — St. John’s United Church of Christ in Troy, 130 S. Walnut St. will have their semi-annual rummage sale from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, May 6, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 7. Enter by side door on Canal Street.

First United Church of Christ to host Share-A-Meal

TROY — From 11:3o a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on May 7, the community is invited to the monthly Share-A-Meal event at First United Church of Christ. The menu includes ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, dessert and beverages.

The Share-A-Meal program provides an opportunity to socialize with others in the community. The church is located at the corner of South Market and Canal Streets in Troy. Please use the Canal Street entrance, which is handicapped accessible.

Community invited to free concert

VANDALIA — Award-Winning Southern Gospel music artist Jason Crabb will appear in concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 at Redemption Christian Tabernacle, 11780 Rt. 25-A (N. Dixie Dr.), 1 mile north Rt. 40 in Vandalia.
