Lay people deliver sermons during search for new pastor

TROY — St. John’s United Church of Christ located at 130 S. Walnut St, Troy, will be having lay people from the church deliver the message, during the search for a new pastor. Worship begins at 10:30 a.m.

The message or sermon will be delivered during January by lay people from the congregation:

Jan. 31 — Mayor Mike Beamish, “Triple A Rated Christians”

Church offers free family event

TIPP CITY — Families with kids age 3 through fifth grade are invited to a Nickelodeon-style event bringing parents and kids together for music, family games, praise and worship, Wednesday, Feb. 3, 6:30-8 p.m. in the Worship Center at Ginghamsburg Church.

Doors open at 6pm. Childcare is available for infants – age 2. Dinner is offered from 5-6pm for a nominal fee.

All welcome to share a meal

TROY — The First United Church of Christ’s Share-A-Meal will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Potatoes au gratin with ham casserole, are on the menu, with green beans, rolls, applesauce, cake and beverages.

Share-A-Meal is a program designed to reach out to the community by providing meals to anyone wishing to participate.

The monthly Share-A-Meal program is on the first Saturday of each month at First United Church of Christ on the corner of S. Market and Canal Street, Troy. Please use the Canal Street entrance, which is handicapped accessible.
