God’s interest in your job explored

TROY — How God feels about your job will be discussed at Lifetree Café on Monday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m.

The program titled “Taking God to Work: How to See the Spiritual Significance in What You Do,” features a filmed interview with Doug Sherman, co-author of “Your Work Matters to God”.

Lifetree Café is located inside St John’s United Church of Christ 130 S Walnut St., Troy.

West Milton church has new pastor

WEST MILTON — Good Shepherd Lutheran Church has welcomed a new pastor, the Reverend Steven Gellatly.

Pastor Steve brings a wealth of experience and knowledge and many years of service to the church.

“This is an exciting time in the life of the Church,” said Barbara Cecil, Church Council President.

Pastor Steve has a Master of Divinity from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary, Berkeley, California, and a Bachelor of Liberal Studies from California State University, Los Angeles, California. He started his ministry in 1982 and has served three prior congregations for a total of 30+ years. He is married to Lori and has two grown daughters. He wants to help Good Shepherd continue to bring the good news of God’s love in Jesus Christ to the West Milton community.

Lay people deliver sermons during search for new pastor

TROY — St. John’s United Church of Christ located at 130 S. Walnut St, Troy, will be having lay people from the church deliver the message, during the search for a new pastor. Worship begins at 10:30 a.m.

The message or sermon will be delivered during January by lay people from the congregation:

Jan. 17 — Earl Reives, “Faith for the Journey”

Jan. 24 — Patricia Robinson, “Ministries for God”

Jan. 31 — Mayor Mike Beamish, “Triple A Rated Christians”

Sausage sale set

WEST MILTON — The Hoffman United Methodist Men are taking orders for their 28th annual whole hog sausage sale. This project provides funds for missions.

Sausage is available in 1 pound bulk packages, either plain or with mild sage spices. Breakfast links are also available in 2 pound packages. Pricing is $3.50 per pound. Delivery is free.
