TCN to host bazaar

TROY — Troy Church of the Nazarene invites the community to its 23rd annual Holiday Bazaar, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12.

More than 50 crafters will display fall and Christmas decorations, jewelry, baskets, candles, gift items, baked goods and much more. Additionally, there will be food available for purchase throughout the day at the Naz Café.

Parking is free, and door prizes will be awarded.

Surviving the Holidays seminar scheduled

TROY — “GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays” is a helpful, encouraging seminar for people facing the holidays after a loved one’s death. The seminar will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 12, at the St. Patrick Church Parish Center, 444 E. Water St, Troy.

The seminar features practical suggestions and reassurance through video interviews with counselors, grief experts and other people who have experienced the holidays after their loved one’s death.

Those who attend will receive a book with over 30 daily readings providing additional insights and ideas on holiday survival. A free will donation will be asked to help cover the cost of the books.

First Lutheran invites community

TROY — Join First Lutheran Church for worship services on Sunday, Nov. 13, at 8 a.m. for a traditional service and at 10:30 a.m. for a contemporary service. Dan Reke will lead in worship with “In God We Trust (?)” based on Luke 21:5-19.

Between services, at 9:15 a.m., will be Faith Formation classes. Children of pre-school through fourth grade will meet in room 126. All junior high students will meet in the H2H classroom and the high school class will continue their study on the movie, “Facing the Giants.” Debbie Rudisill will lead the study for adults, “War Room,” based on the movie of the same name.

Mark your calendars for Friday, Dec. 2 — the Polar Express will be making a stop at at 7 p.m. Enjoy hot chocolate and Christmas cookies and perhaps meet some very special guests.

reviveOHIO coming to Miami County

TIPP CITY — reviveOHIO Miami County is a week-long outreach set to take place Nov. 13-19. Each day begins with prayer at 7 a.m., a free breakfast at 8 a.m. and then community outreach.

Teams will hit the streets to talk and pray with others, showing the same love and compassion Jesus showed when he walked the streets of Judea. After another round of free lunch, training and outreach, each day culminates with a free community dinner at 5:30 p.m. and a 7 p.m. service at Ginghamsburg Church, 6759 S. County Rd. 25A, Tipp City, Ohio.

Messy Church planned

TROY — You’re invited! First United Church of Christ, 120 S. Market St., Troy, invites you to “Messy Church” on Sunday, Nov. 20, from 4-6 p.m., a casual and fun way for families to worship God together.

Enjoy some fun and “messy” activities, a short celebration service and a light dinner. Messy Church is for people at all stages of their faith journey and of any age. Don’t miss out on the fun.

Messy Church is held on the third Sunday of every month from 4-6 p.m. Please use Canal Street entrance.

Churches celebrate Thanksgiving

PLEASANT HILL — The Churches of Pleasant Hill invite you to join them for a Thanksgiving celebration. The service will be on Nov. 20 at 7 p.m., It will be hosted by the Brethren in Christ Church, 101 W. Hill St.

There will be singing, special music, scripture reading. The Thanksgiving message will be given by Rev. Nick Beam, Pastor of the Church of the Brethren.

We trust you will come celebrate with us.

Turkey supper planned

FLETCHER — The Fletcher United Methodist Church will host their annual Turkey Supper from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22.

The menu includes turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, gravy, green beans, cole slaw, applesauce, pie, and drinks. A freewill donation will be accepted and carry outs will be available from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

The Annual Fletcher UMC Turkey Trot will be held on Thanksgiving morning at 8 a.m. All participants are asked to meet at the Coffee Bar inside the Fletcher United Methodist Church. There will be two routes: a 5K route that loops out of town and back, and a shorter route that remains inside the village limits. Dogs are welcome as long as you clean up after them. Coffee, water, and snacks will be provided when you return to the Coffee Bar.

Sing with the Christmas Choir

WEST MILTON — If you love to sing — especially at Christmas — this is your opportunity to join the Good Shepherd Christmas Choir as they present their annual musical.

It will be performed at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1209 S. Miami St., West Milton.

High school students through adult ages are invited to sing the songs of the season with the choir. You don’t need to memorize the music, you don’t need to audition, and you don’t need to be a “solo” singer. You just need to love to sing.

All are welcome to join us as we sing the beautiful music of Christmas.
