Vacation Bible School to start
TROY —This Sunday, First United Church of Christ will kick off “Egypt, Joseph’s Journey from Prison to Palace” Vacation Bible School.
Come and travel the exciting route that Joseph encountered through his life from 6-8:30 p.m. Sunday, July 10, through Thursday, July 14.

Church to host VBS
WEST MILTON — West Milton Church of the Nazarene will host Vacation Bible School from 6:30-8:30 p.m. July 11-15.
VBS is open to children ages three through sixth grade. Registration starts at 6 p.m.
The event will feature games, snacks, crafts, and Dave’s Barrel Train.

First Lutheran Church to host events
TROY — The community is invited to join First Lutheran Church for the first of the dynamic sermon series: DAILY TRIUMPH! Part 2, “There is a God in Heaven,” based on Daniel 2:1-28. Pastor Ric Barnes will be sharing this message
Service begins at 9:30 a.m. JAM (Jesus and Me) Kids will be teaching the little ones the story of, “The Transfiguration,” during the service in the church lobby.
Vacation Bible School kicks off on Sunday evening, July 10. There will be singing and learning, playing games and making crafts, experimenting and snacking from 5:30-8 p.m. This year’s theme is “Cave Quest: Following Jesus the Light of the World.” There is still time to be a part of the fun — registration for VBS students and volunteers is still being accepted at our church or online at www.flctroy-nalc.org.
The church is also looking for volunteers for Troy’s Lunch Club. It’s a fun couple of hours each day meeting and interacting with amazing children and their families.
Traveling Shamrocks explore Downton
TROY — Join the Traveling Shamrocks for a fun day of exploring “Dressing Downton: Changing Fashion for Changing Times,” at the Taft Museum of Art in Cincinnati on Wednesday, Sept. 21.
The exhibition explores British fashion between the years of 1912-1920, the era in which popular TV show Downton Abbey is set.
Afterwards enjoy lunch and shopping at Newport on the Levee in Newport, Ky., with a view of the Cincinnati cityscape right across the Ohio River.
The $99 price includes motor coach transportation, admission to the exhibit, lunch and shopping in Newport, taxes and gratuities on meal and attractions, plus a tour director. Seating is limited, so register early.

Light Up the Park set
FLETCHER — Fletcher United Methodist Church invites the community to come and join them for free food, fun, and fellowship in the Fletcher Village park from 3:30-7 p.m. on Sunday, July 17.
This month’s “Light Up the Park” event includes the annual ice cream social with an extra special surprise — Berachah Valley. Bring lawn chairs and get ready for some foot-stomping bluegrass, country, folk and gospel music from these talented musicians who hail from Franklin, Ohio.
In the event of rain, this event will be held at the church.
