TROY — Brad Via picked up his second tournament victory at Miami Shores Golf Course this year, winning the Club Championship played July 19-20.


Via defeated Justin Weber in the championship flight of the Club Championship. Earlier this summer, Via won the City Championship.


Brent Adkins picked up the victory in the super seniors flight, defeating runner-up Jeff Poettinger. Tom Stickrod and Jack Holtel tied for third, while Jim Sarich and Doug Willoughby tied for fifth.


Rick Szabo won the seniors flight, with Bob Rohr finishing runner-up.


Jeff Bacon won the first flight, with Ty Nimer finishing second and Ray Stuchell third.


Rob Shively won the second flight, with Brian Stafford the runner-up.


Miami Shores has also a number of hole-in-ones over the past two weeks. On July 24, Roy Swartz had his first career hole-in-one on the 160-yard hole No. 7 using a 5-hybrid. It was witnessed by Art Besecker and Dick Thiel. And on July 30, George Griman had his first career hole-in-one on the 135-yard hole No. 2 using an 8-iron. It was witnessed by Art West, Roger Mumpower, and Ron Kress.
