TROY — A new event is coming to the Miami County Fairgrounds — and funds raised will help the children involved in the fair.
Summerfest will be held for two days, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the old Merchants Building, which is on the southeast corner of the fairgrounds.
Summerfest will offer direct sellers, artisans, crafters and food vendors to benefit the Miami County Junior Fair Board.
Admission to the event is free to the public.
“I wanted to do this non-profit event to help raise funds for the Junior Fair Board,” said Logan Eshelman, director of Miami County Summerfest.
All the proceeds from the vendor’s booth rent will be donated to the Miami County Junior Fair Board.
“Next year we hope to have different vendors attend the event and even launch a website for the event next year,” Eshelman said.
For now, the Miami County Summerfest has a Facebook page with directions on how to get to the event, a complete list of vendors and contact information. Vendors will be sharing their products and information with visitors attending the event.
“I encourage the community to come out and help us raise money for the Miami County Junior Fair Board,” Eshelman said.
