MIAMI COUNTY — Keeping swine in line, Miami County Fair swine arena onlookers were treated to a show within a show at the Pee Wee showmanship show on Saturday morning.

Eight year-old Maryn Gross took home her division’s trophy for the fourth year in a row at the Miami County Fair’s swine showmanship show.

“You got to stay focused and be looking at the judge,” Gross shared after nabbing the coveted showmanship brass hog trophy.

Gross said she spends a lot of time out at her family’s farm, walking and working with her showmanship gilt “Buckeye.”

Gross said she enjoys showmanship and doing well “so you can go on and do more pig shows. My favorite thing is to congratulate people for doing good at the show,” she said.

Gross also shared her favorite part of the Miami County Fair besides showing her animals.

“I like playing games with my family,” she said.

Gross will be a third grade student at Miami East Elementary School.

The 2014 Miami County Fair Pee Wee Showmanship winners included: 3 years-old and under — Emma Eichhorn; 4 years-old and under — Kaelyn Petry; 5 years-old — Dylon Hollowell; 6 years-old — Carter Leiss; 7 year-olds — Tucker Nave; and 8 years-old — Maryn Gross.
