TROY — Troy residents now can have their cars washed and detailed while watching television or eating dinner without lifting a finger.
Kyle Minton, a senior at Troy High School, has started his own mobile detailing and audio installation business named Roof to Rims. The service comes right to your home or business and details your vehicle. The only thing Minton requires is a faucet for water and an outlet.
“I have a passion for cars and decided I wanted to make a career of it last year when I took an entrepreneur course in my junior year,” Kyle Minton, owner, said.
Roof to Rims will clean your vehicle inside and out. Minton will use a clay bar on the outside of your car to remove sediment and tar without harming the paint. The vehicle is then waxed.
“All of my friends are really into cars and I think that was one of the factors that helped decide that this is what I wanted to do,” Minton said.
He is only doing cars on the weekends because he wants to put his education first, he said. Minton is also planning to attend Sinclair so he can still run his business while attending college after graduation.
There are different price scales depending on the size, how dirty your your car is and how far he must travel to clean your automobile. An SUV would be more expensive than a compact car, for example. A complete cleaning and detailing service will take him roughly three hours.
He said he is excited about his new business and hopes the people of Troy will want him to come and clean their vehicles or install a sound system.
