Farm Bureau announces local foods gift basket
COLUMBUS – The Taste From Our Ohio Gift Basket is the newest exclusive benefit for members of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF). The baskets of unique, nonperishable Ohio food items promote local businesses and bring together the food and farm communities. A portion of the proceeds from basket sales will fund youth scholarships and agricultural education projects through the Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation.
Baskets, priced at $100 and $60 (plus $15 shipping and handling per basket) are available only to Ohio Farm Bureau members and can be ordered online at GrowWithFB.org. Order forms are also available by contacting county Farm Bureau offices or by calling (614) 249-2400. Nonmembers also may visit the site or call to join in order to purchase the baskets.
OFBF worked with Weiland’s Gourmet Market, a local independent grocer, to create the baskets. The large basket contains Matt’s Hog Spit BBQ Sauce, Mild Frog Ranch Salsa, Bloomer’s Candy Peanut Butter Clusters, My Dadz Nutz, Marsha’s Buckeyes, Bonhomie Acres Maple Syrup, Sugar Shack Kettle Corn, Vino de Milo Roasted Red Pepper Bruschetta, Crimson Cup Coffee Armando’s Blend, Grumpy Goat Knaughty Knots Seasoned Pretzels, Emlolly Candies, Three Kids and a Caramel, Ben’s Sweet & Hot Mustard, Yoder’s shelf-stable cheese, Krema Cheddar Corn Nuggets, and Buckeye Brittle. The small basket contains Mild Frog Ranch Salsa, My Dadz Nutz, Marsha’s Buckeyes, Sugar Shack Kettle Corn, Emlolly Candies, Three Kids and a Caramel, Ben’s Sweet & Hot Mustard, Yoder’s shelf-stable cheese, and Buckeye Brittle.
“This is a great chance for Farm Bureau members to give or get some delicious Ohio foods and at the same time support our local economies and Ohio’s young people,” said Brian Peach, OFBF’s senior director, member benefit services.
