Road to close

TIPP CITY — Beginning on April 25, County Road 25-A from Blauser Drive to Curry Branch Drive will be closed (northbound and southbound traffic) due to the County Road 25-A Reconstruction Project.

County Road 25-A from Curry Branch to State Route 571 (West Main Street) will be open (northbound and southbound) to local traffic only.

Evanston Road, Peters Road and State Route 571 will be posted as the detour route. County Road 25-A will reopen when the work is completed.

Participation still available

PLEASANT HILL — If you would like to be part of Pleasant Hill’s upcoming Sesquicentennial (150th birthday) celebration — it is not too late.

The committee invites all business owners of Pleasant Hill and Newton Township to participate in the June 25 celebration. Business owners should plan to bring a pop-up tent, table and chairs and set up their own booth. Bring literature, samples, hand-outs, etc. to share with celebration participants. Business also be a part of the parade that begins at 9:30 a.m., with line up at 9 a.m.

The committee is also still accepting entries for the following: parade, pet parade and show, food tent, craft tent, cruise-in and Little Prince and Princess (ages 4-7). Pick up any or all of these applications at Newton School or the library.

Healthy Kids Day planned

TROY — On Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the Miami County YMCA will celebrate Healthy Kids Day with a free community event that will help families find fun through active play and educational opportunities to improve health and well-being. As part of the Y’s commitment to strengthening community by addressing critical gaps in health and education, Healthy Kids Day will encourage kids and parents to commit to keeping the body and mind active now and throughout the summer.

At Healthy Kids Day, the nation’s largest health day for kids, families will enjoy a variety of YMCA activities such as: a fun run, bounce house, obstacle course, mini boat races, cardio drumming, crafts, and more! There will also be prizes given away to kids in attendance.
