Flight Ground School offered

TROY — It’s on your bucket list. You have always wanted to fly, but you don’t know where to begin. The dream of obtaining your pilot license is possible. WACO now offers Flight Ground School.

If you just can’t get your head out of the clouds, come and begin your journey with us.

Ground school will be taught in 11 class sessions during October and November at WACO Air Museum from 6-8 p.m. Visit www.wacoairmuseum.org, under the Learning Center tab, for more information, including specific dates and materials needed. Or, call WACO at (937) 335-9226, and ask for Nancy.

Rick Arnold, SEL, AGI, FAA Certified Ground Instructor, and instructor at UVCC in Piqua, will be the instructor for this course.

The registration deadline is Sept, 25. The class must have four participants to proceed.

Tai Chi class set

WEST MILTON – Interested in gaining clarity of mind and more freedom of movement? Try out Tai Chi with a free introductory class offered by Debra Stewart at the Milton-Union Public Library. The class will be held from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19.

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese tradition often described as mediation in motion. It is comprised of gentle, flowing movements that can help clear the mind and exercise the body.

Stewart is an adjunct instructor for Sinclair Community College, Hondros College of Nursing, Fortis College, and Ashford University Forbes School of Business. She is an Advisory Board member for the Mental Health Technology Program at Sinclair College and Sinclair College for Lifelong Learning, and also works as a certified Vital Life Community Consultant through Vital Nation.

In addition, Stewart is a Tae Kwon Do and Weapons instructor at Chung’s Academy, holding her 6th degree Black Belt. She has studied Tai Chi for more than 25 years. Stewart owns her own business, called Picture Yourself Stronger, which provides fitness services for churches, community centers, the elderly, and home-bound. Debra is a certified fitness instructor through the American Council on Exercise, American Senior Fitness Association, and Alliance Yoga and has been recognized by the Ohio Health Care Association and the Ohio Assisted Living Association.

Stewart is currently in the process of publishing her first book “Finding the Good in the Workplace Bully.”
