Couple welcome son

TROY — Sara and Craig Lichtenberg of Piqua announce the birth of their second child, Gustav “Gus” Wilhelm, born Aug. 7, 2015, at 12:31 a.m.

He weighed 9 pounds and 7 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long.

He joins big sister Charlotte Anne.

Maternal grandparents are Steve and Susan Pond of Urbana. Great-grandparents are Bob and the late Charlotte Reed.

Paternal grandparents are Fritz and the late Judy Lichtenberg of Conover.

Road still closed

ELIZABETH TOWNSHIP — Rudy Road continues to be closed between Elizabeth Bethel Road and Tipp-Elizabeth Road, 0.3 miles north of Elizabeth-Bethel Road.

The extended road closing is expected to continue through 3 p.m. Sept. 11 for a bridge replacement.

Agri equipment display offered

PLEASANT HILL — The Pleasant Hill History Center is featuring the history of the Patty & Schultz Agri Equipment company during the month of September. The company evolved from Patty & DeHays to Patty Implement to Schultz Agri Equipment covering three generations from 1935 to 1996.

John Schultz has loaned his family’ collection of replicas of equipment sold, pictures and memorabilia for the special display.

The Pleasant Hill History Center is located at 8 E. Monument St., and is open every Monday from 3-7 p.m., exept Labor Day, Sept. 7.

A number of new items also have been added in the last several months.

Library seeks items

WEST MILTON — The New Friends of the Milton-Union Public Library are gearing up for their semi-annual book sale Sept. 10-12, and are seeking the community’s help.

The New Friends request donations of new or slightly used paperback and hardback books, current and former bestsellers, clean copies of classic titles, audiobooks, music CDs and DVDs. They ask that materials be in good condition.

Items not needed for the sale are materials in poor condition, such as yellowing pages of musty smell, encyclopedias, magazines, dated information like old computer books, and VHS tapes.

All donations are tax deductible and may be brought to the library during open hours. The Book Sale will be Friday, Sept. 11 and Saturday, Sept. 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a bag sale the last two hours on Saturday from 3-5 p.m. Bags will be provided. Members’ night for New Friends only is Thursday, April 16 from 4-8 p.m. Become a member that night for only $5.

Milton-Union Public Library is located at 560 S. Main St., West Milton and is open Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
