TROY — The Miami County YMCA Robinson Branch is adding a new program to its water aerobics class offerings by partnering with SCW Fitness to bring WATERinMOTION to Miami County. The Robinson branch will offer two free demo events of WATERinMOTION on Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. and Oct. 20 at 8 a.m. for those looking to try out this new class.
“It’s an exciting new class that really works for adults of all ages,” said Leia Lander, aquatics director at the Miami County YMCA Robinson Branch. “Our instructors have been working hard to prepare for the launch of this class and I think it will be a great addition to our water aerobics program.”
WATERinMOTION is a dynamic workout that builds simple movement patterns for the upper and lower body to choreographed music. Participants get the intensity level of a cross-training workout, but in the low-impact area of the pool making it an ideal workout for participants of all ages.
“The class links with guidelines for Silver Sneakers aquatic programs, but with a modern twist,” said Lander. “And it’s just one more class led by great instructors in our association to help keep Miami County active and healthy. I encourage anyone interested in fitness, land or water, to come and give the program a try!”
WATERinMOTION will be added as a regular class offering at the Robinson branch beginning with their Fall II session. WATERinMOTION will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8 a.m. Registration for all fall two session classes at the Miami County YMCAs will open Oct. 17.
