YMCA taking sign ups

(PIQUA/TROY)—The Miami County YMCA is taking registrations for an upcoming adult soccer league.

The adult soccer league takes place at the Piqua branch on Sunday evenings beginning Nov. 13. Registration goes through Nov. 4. This soccer league is co-ed with two females on the court at a time and is an eight game season.

The Miami County YMCA also will be taking registrations for Fall II session classes beginning Monday, Oct. 17 for members and Thursday, Oct. 20 for nonmembers. Classes will begin Monday, Oct. 24 and last for seven weeks. This session includes many recreation and fitness options such as swim lessons, group exercise, gymnastics, youth sports and more.

The Y will be taking online registrations at its website To do so, a participant must first register his or her email at the main desk. They can then go online, log in and register for their chosen classes. Registrations will also still be accepted at the desks and over the phone. Cabaret & Cabernet upcoming

TROY — The Troy-Hayner Cultural Center is pleased to host a Cabaret & Cabernet with the David Wion Trio on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to participate in a Broadway sing-a-long in the Hayner’s Ballroom complete with cabaret tables, hors d’oeuvres and soft drinks. Wine will be available for purchase. Lyric sheets of all time favorite Broadway tunes will be provided for the sing-a-long. This musical evening is free and open to the public and is intended for an adult audience.

FFA holding annual fruit sales

CASSTOWN — The Miami East-MVCTC FFA Chapter is now holding its annual fruit fundraiser. The Miami East FFA will be selling Washington Red Delicious Apples, Washington Golden Delicious Apples, Ohio Red Delicious Apples, Ohio Golden Delicious Apples, Ohio Fuji Apples, navel oranges, tangerines, pears, pineapples, pink grapefruit, mixed fruit and peanuts. The fruit is sold in full and half boxes.

Miami East-MVCTC FFA is also offering a variety of cheeses, including colby, Swiss, marble, pepper jack, and horseradish, ring-bologna, large and small fruit gift baskets and barbecue sauces. Additionally, FFA is offering Jack Link’s Beef Steaks in original or teriyaki flavors.

Miami East-MVCTC FFA chapter will be selling from now through Nov. 11. Delivery will be the first full week in December.
