MIAMI COUNTY — Miami County Sheriff’s Office officials are still working with the Tipp City man who was listed as missing over the weekend to determine the circumstances surrounding his nearly three-day disappearance

Raymond Makowski, 54, who had been listed as a missing adult for more than three days, was located late Sunday evening.

Makowski, a severe diabetic, returned home late Sunday, unaware authorities or his family were searching for him, according to officials.

According to his son’s Facebook page, Makowski was seeking treatment at the Dayton VA Medical Center on Monday.

Preliminary statements Makowski made to officials was that he wandered off in a nearby woods in the midst of a diabetic episode. Duchak said the department will continue to investigate the incident, although charges related to the matter are unlikely.
