TROY — Troy Police Department officials are continuing to process evidence left behind by two robbery suspects who fled on foot on Monday morning.

According to Capt. Jeff Kunkleman, the two white males who attempted to rob the C.R. Butts Discount Tobacco business at 45 South Dorset Road around 5:30 a.m. are believed to no longer be in the area. An officer responded to an alarm call at the business and as the officer approached, the two men ran out the door towards the Westbrook neighborhood.

Troy Police Department searched in and around the neighborhood of Westbrook for hours using a K-9 unit and other methods before calling off the search.

Detectives collected evidence from the truck left outside the business. The truck was stolen from a Lima Harley-Davidson business and has been returned to the owner.
