MONROE TOWNSHIP — The 2016 contract with the Miami Valley Fire/EMS Alliance, which is coordinating authority for the Dayton Regional Hazardous Material Response Team (HAZMAT), was renewed by the Monroe Township Trustees at their meeting on Feb. 16. The cost for this service is remaining the same as last year’s payment of $1,320.96, based on township unincorporated population according to the 2010 census.

It was noted that future meetings by the Tipp City Senior Citizens Inc. will be held open to the public at 10 a.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at its current facility, 320 S. First St., Tipp City. Any written correspondence should be addressed to this group at P.O. Box 376, Tipp City, OH 45371, not the physical address. Updates regarding progress with the building of the new senior citizens building are available from John Berk of that organization’s building committee.

Bills paid at the township board meeting equaled $29,740.69. The trustees also accepted all financial status reports for the end of January 2016 and the bank reconciliation report for Dec. 31, 2015.

The next meeting scheduled by the trustees will be 7 p.m. Monday, March 7 in the township’s meeting room, 6 E. Main St., Tipp City.
