TROY — The Miami County Sheriff’s Office arrested three Troy residents for possession of heroin on Thursday at the intersection of Country Road 25-A and Dye Mill Road in Troy.
Driver Cody Sampson, 25, passengers Jason Adkins, 40, and Shannon Yohey, 33, all of Troy, were stopped after following another vehicle too closely around noon on Thursday.
As the deputy requested identification, he noticed Sampson’s hands were shaking. When the deputy asked Sampson where he was coming from, Sampson said from Menards in Huber Heights (Editor’s note: Menards is not located in Huber Heights) and the other passengers gave officials conflicting stories.
Due to their inconsistent statements, the deputy separated the parties and asked for consent to search the green Honda Civic.
A deputy assisting at the scene located a cigarette pack with cigarettes and five caps of what is believed to be heroin. Six caps of suspected heroin were found in the car’s ashtray, and another four capsules were located between the car floorboard and the railing of the front passenger seat near the rear of the center console.
After further questions, the involved parties admitted to buying heroin in Dayton.
Sampson was charged with following too close and possession of heroin. Adkins and Yohey were both charged for possession of heroin.
