Nineteen students from the Upper Valley Career Center Adult Division Practical Nursing program turned the dream of graduating from nursing school into a reality on Nov. 24. The graduation event was attended by Upper Valley Career Center staff members, family, and friends.
Dr. Nancy Luce, superintendent, welcomed those in attendance and congratulated the graduates on reaching this important achievement. Class adviser Vickie Ashman commended the graduates on their accomplishment and offered words of inspiration.
“You entered this program with the goal of becoming a nurse. As this part of your educational journey comes to an end, today is your day, and I am very proud of each of you. It is my honor to welcome you to the nursing profession,” Ashman said.
Lori Ludwig, program director, congratulated all graduates and paid special tribute to individuals who demonstrated high academic success. Recognition for Honors went to Kala Branscum of Sidney, Sarah Lewis of Piqua, and Danyell Youssef of Troy. Recognition of Highest Honors went to Tasha Craig of Laura, and Kristin Thrasher of Sidney.
Dr. Barbara Wagner, Adult Division director, awarded the diplomas and Vickie Ashman pinned the graduates.
The November 2015 School of Nursing graduates are as follows: Anna- Chelsie Weinstock; Covington- Terri Slaybaugh; Greenville- Chelsea Cromwell, Mary Emrick, and Skylar Wolfe; Huber Heights- Ashley McCleskey; Laura- Tasha Craig; New Bremen- Charmaline Zephirin; Piqua- Sarah Lewis; Pleasant Hill- Nicole Ruppert; Sidney- Kala Branscum, Stacie Edwards, Tracie Fleming, Rhonda Lowery, and Kristin Thrasher; Tipp City- Kimberly Fields; Troy- Michele Williams, and Danyell Youssef; Yorkshire- Jodi Moore.
