PLEASANT HILL — The Pleasant Hill Sesquicentennial Committee, in connection with M.T. Publishing Company, will sponsor and compile a pictorial history of Pleasant Hill, in celebration of the 150th anniversary.
“A Pictorial History of Pleasant Hill Ohio” will contain hundreds of historical photos fromthe town — past and present. If you have some old pictures of Pleasant Hill that you would like to share, the committee would love to see them.
The 9-inch-by-12-inch coffeetable-style book will be bound in a hard cover with a color dust jacket specially designed for this publication. It will include a minimum of 96 pages and will be printed on high quality, acid-free glossy paper. The final page count will depend on the number of book orders. A copy is currently available at the discounted pre-publication price of $37.50 and the order deadline is Nov. 15.
Patron supporters also are needed. Members of the community may want to put the history of their business, church, school, organization or family in print for future generations and historians to enjoy. All members of the Pleasant Hill area are invited to submit their written history for display in this professionally designed pictorial history book. Please include any information you feel pertinent: the date of your business, church, school, or organization was started, location, who founded it, when you family came to Pleasant Hill, etc. and a historic and current photo (if possible). Materials for the full page should consist of approximately 800 words with two photos or the equivalent. For half page, patrons should submit the equivalent of 300 words and one photo.
Full color patron pages are being sold for $500 for a full page and $400 for a half page. A complimentary copy of the book is included with a full page purchase. One-color (black and white) patron pages are being sold for $235 or a full page and $185 for a half page.
