TROY — A two-car crash Thursday evening sent two people to the hospital.

According to Troy Police Department Captain Shawn McKinney, the cars were both going southbound on Peters Road close to Dickerson Drive when the first car, driven by 53-year-old C. Kelly Eardley of Troy came to a stop and was rear-ended.

The driver of the second vehicle that caused the accident was a 17-year-old Troy female, according to McKinney.

McKinney said the call to 911 came at 6:09 p.m. Thursday and three medics were requested at the time.

The juvenile, in the 911 call, complained of neck and back pain, but was not transported to the hospital.

Both Eardley, and his passenger, Sandra Eardley, 58, also of Troy, were transported by Troy medics to Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy.

The female minor who caused the accident was cited for failure to maintain assured distance ahead, McKinney said.

Both C. Kelly and Sandra Eardley were treated and released at UVMC, according to a UVMC spokesperson.
