Staff Reports

TROY — On Saturday, Aug. 27, the Hayner will host a concert on the lawn featuring two gifted young musicians that call their duo, CAAMP. This free outdoor concert features Taylor Meier on guitar and Evan Westfall on banjo and kick drums. Columbus natives, these long time friends have easy engagingies and a folksy, Mumford-and-Sons love of story and string. They list their musical influences as Ray LaMontange, Justin Vernon and Trampled by Turtles.

This concert on the lawn will recognize the Hayner’s 40th anniversary as a cultural center. Three celebrations have been planned for the year. The first event celebrated its past on April 30 with a formal dress Ruby Ball. The second celebration is a concert on the lawn to celebrate the present Troy-Hayner Cultural Center. The third celebration will be Oct. 29 with a family Boo Bash event to celebrate the future of the center.

The Troy-Hayner Cultural Center is proudly supported by the citizens of the Troy City School District through a local tax levy and generous gifts to the Friends of Hayner. For more information regarding these free events and to receive a complete listing of Hayner Events, call 339-0457 or visit TroyHayner.org for complete details.
