TROY — The Troy-Hayner Cultural Center’s Lucky Lemonade series will open with Daniel Dye and the Miller Road Band at 7:30 p.m. July 5 in the center’s courtyard, 301 W. Main St., Troy.

Daniel Dye is a singer-songwriter strongly influenced by traditional folk. The Miller Road Band is comprised of his classically trained nephews and nieces that join him to create their own unique version of American Roots music. Several years ago, Dye began jamming with his sister’s kids, the musical Miller siblings, and found that the perspective of these young people seemed to bring a new sensibility to his own songs. After some time, and many sing-a-longs at family get-togethers, they began to take on a few local gigs and found that they all really enjoyed what the group was growing into.

The Millers are Andrew on guitar (banjo, accordion, viola, xylophone, etc.), Carrie on violin and Thomas on cello. The group previously performed at the Hayner for the 2014 Rhythm and Roots festival.
