TIPP CITY — The Miami County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) and Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) in conjunction with the city of Tipp City will be conducting a combined full-scale exercise in Tipp City on Sept. 10.
The exercise is State Emergency Response Commission sanctioned, and is one of the exercise requirements that the LEPC must meet in their four-year training cycle. The purpose of the exercise is to test local and regional first response agencies and their protocols, and to identify areas where improvements can be made.
On Saturday, Sept. 10, from approximately 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., you may see emergency response apparatus from Tipp City and surrounding agencies on the streets of Tipp City. Any emergency apparatus that has emergency lights on and sirens sounding will be on an actual response and drivers should give them the courtesy of yielding to them. The exercise apparatus will be using North Sixth Street to reach the staging area for the exercise. The apparatus will not be in emergency response mode (emergency lights and sirens) while arriving or returning from the exercise.
Park Avenue will be closed to private vehicles from the east side of the railroad to Donn Davis Way during the exercise, so please consider an alternate route in your travels.
