Andersons celebrate 65 years together

TROY — James V. and Phyllis V. (Butt) Anderson celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 30, 2015.

They were married on June 30, 1950, at the Baptist Church in Tipp City, by the Rev. Harman.

They have three children, Debbie (Steve) Barkett of Troy, Mary Porazzo of Leawood, Kansas, and Jamie (Yuki) Anderson of Rome, N.Y.; and five grandchildren.

The couple met at Jim’s Aunt Ella’s house when they were very young.

Jim retired from Hobart Corporation in 1990. He was a member of the Hobart Quarter Century Club. Phyllis retired from Hobart Manufacturing in 1992.

Jim has always enjoyed baseball, bowling and golf. He coaches several successful Little League teams (DeMolay and High Noon) when Jamie was playing.

Phyllis enjoys reading and attending St. John’s United Church of Christ.
