Pat and Jim Morris are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this year. They were married on July 31, 1965, in the First Lutheran Church in Troy.
Both are retired. Pat, a Wright State and University of Dayton graduate, was a teacher in Troy City Schools for 30 years, including 27 as a language arts teacher at Troy Junior High. She retired in 2011.
Jim, an Ohio University graduate, worked at the Troy Daily News for 23 years, the last 10 as executive editor. He worked at the Dayton Daily News as an outdoor columnist and on the night sports desk for 16 years. He retired in 2010.
They have two children, Laura of Partlow, Va., and Jim of Granger, Ind., and five grandchildren.
