An adult or high school student will be able to help your child practice reading. The program will be every Monday until the end of the school year.

• CUPCAKES: Guests can sign up for one of two Seuss Cupcake Decorating classes at the Piqua Public Library. Teens will meet from 4-5:30 p.m., and then an all-ages session will be held from 6-8 p.m. You must register in advance for these sessions, space is limited. • MOMS & TOTS: The Miami County Park District will hold its “Trailing Moms & Tots” program from 10 a.m. to noon at Charleston Falls Preserve, 2535 Ross Rd. south of Tipp City. This program is for expectant mothers, mothers and tots 0 to five years of age. Participants can socialize, play and exercise during this walk. There may even be craft time. • ADVISORY BOARD: Teens looking for a volunteer opportunity can join others the Troy-Miami County Library’s Teen Advisory Board. • CARRY-IN: Tipp City American Legion Post 586 members, family and friends are welcome to come to a carry-in dinner at 6 p.m. Bring a covered dish to share.

• CRAFTS: The Tipp City Seniors members and guests will be offered crafts and quilting at 9 a.m. at 320 S. First St., Tipp City.

• BLOOD DRIVE: Fletcher United Methodist Church will help replenish the spring blood supply and celebrate the week of St. Patrick’s Day by hosting a community blood drive from 3-7 p.m. at 205 S. • HOME SCHOOL NATURE CLUB: Sign-up your home schooled student afternoon of discovery from 2-4 p.m. at Brukner Nature Center. Staff naturalists have developed hands-on educational lesson plans, using live wildlife and outdoor exploration. The fee is $2.50 for BNC members and $5 for non-members. Payment is due at time of registration (cash or check). Deadline for registration is the Monday prior to each program. Topic for March is “Salamander Sleuths!”

• BIRDSLEUTH WORKSHOP: Home school parents can join staff at Brukner Nature Center from 9:45-11:15 a.m. or 2:15-3:45 p.m. for a workshop. BNC is partnering with Cornel Lab of Ornithology to bring the BirdSleuth Workshop to all interested home school parents. Staff will have engaging science lessons by local birds. The workshop includes all materials and a free window bird feeder provided by Cornell Lab of Ornithology and BirdSleuth K-12. Attract feeder birds to your home, a great first step toward getting children outside observing and learning. The cost is $5 per parent (cash or check).

• MY BOOK AND ME: My Book and Me is a program where kids from kindergarten and up get to create their own books with illustrations. The program will take place every Thursday night in March at 6:30 p.m. at the Milton-Union Public Library. Each week a new theme and writing prompt will be presented. At the end of the month each student’s five short stories will be compiled, bound together in a book, and put on display to share with the community in April.

• STORY TIME: Every Thursday morning in March, the Children’s Department story time of the Piqua Public Library, for children 5 and younger, will have a Seuss-theme. Story time is held at 10:30 a.m., with children divided into infant to 36 months and 3-5 years age groups.

Society president Judy Deeter will present a program titled “The Market Report: Stories from Troy’s Grocery Store History.” Deeter’s presentation will feature stories about Troy’s long ago grocery stores and their owners, particularly those doing business in the late 19th and early 20th century. Tickets for $15 an adult/child couple (additional child $5), will be available at the door. The event will include a DJ, refreshments, games, crafts, silent auction and portrait packages. Proceeds will go to the Piqua Platinum Elite Cheerleaders for nationals.

• SPAGHETTI DINNER: A spaghetti dinner, with a guest speaker and raffle, will be offered at Zion Lutheran Church, 14 W. Walnut St., Tipp City. The dinner will be from 6-7 p.m., the speaker, Steffen Baldwin of the Animal Cruelty Taskforce of Ohio, at 7 p.m. and raffle from 8:15-9:15 p.m. Meals will be $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and younger. • DOG SOCIAL: The Miami County Park District will hold its monthly dog social from 1-3 p.m. at Stillwater Prairie Reserve, 9750 St. Rt. 185 in Covington. Join park district naturalist Sequoia Steven at the annual “Just Walking the Dog” social where dogs and their owners spend an afternoon just walking in the park. • SPAGHETTI SUPPER: An all-you-can-eat spaghetti supper will be offerdd from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at First United Church of Christ, 120 S. Market St, Troy. Enjoy homemade spaghetti with marinara sauce and meatballs, bread, applesauce, a variety of desserts and beverages, plus unlimited trips to the salad bar. Meals are $7 for adults, $3 for children 5-10 years old and free for children 4 years old and younger. Carry-outs will be available. All proceeds benefit Relay for Life. Use the Canal Street entrance, which is handicapped accessible.
