Kindergarten registration set
COVINGTON — Covington Elementary will be holding its annual kindergarten registration and screening on April 2-3 from 8-11 a.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m.
Any child who will be 5 before Aug. 1, 2014, is eligible to attend kindergarten. All parents of kindergarten age children are asked to call the elementary office at 473-2252 for a registration/screening appointment.
To register your child(ren), it is necessary for parents to bring their child’s certified birth certificate, record of immunizations, Social Security cardcand custodial papers (if applicable).
Edison ceramics fundraiser to benefit program
PIQUA — The Edison Community College Ceramics Department wants you to join them for dinner, as they hold the fifth annual “Soup Du’Jour” fundraiser from 4-7 p.m. Thursday in the cafeteria at the Piqua campus.
Those attending will receive their choice of a handmade ceramic bowl, soup, bread, dessert and a beverage for $12. The event will also feature a fine art sale with both student and professional artists’ work available.
Proceeds raised from the annual event help the ceramics department to fund equipment and materials for the program.
Art classes, including ceramics, at Edison Community College are made available throughout the year to those interested in working toward a degree as well as those seeking a new hobby.

UF announces fall dean’s list
FINDLAY — The dean’s list for fall semester at The University of Findlay has been announced. The following local students have attained a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Covington — Catherine Dickey and Darrell Thobe.
Tipp City — Madison Gioiello, Chase Goulette and Megan Kingrey.
Troy — Andrew Hargrove, Zacharey Kinninger and Sarah Pyers.
Students honored at OCU
CIRCLEVILLE— Local students were named to the dean’s list at Ohio Christian University College of Adult and Graduate Studies for the spring 2013 semester. To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must achieve a semester GPA of 3.5 or better and be enrolled in at least 12 “graded” semester hours.
The students are Rick Keener of Piqua and Michael Metz of Troy.
