Arcanum man jailed in child rape case

GREENVILLE - An Arcanum man is jailed on a $100,000 bond after being indicted on 10 felony counts involving sex with a child.

Robert G. Lambert, 67, was recently indicted on five counts of Rape, felonies of the first degree, and five counts of Gross Sexual Imposition, felonies of the third degree.

The offenses stem from an investigation with the Darke County Sheriff’s Office that alleged Lambert engaged in sexual relations with a 6-year-old female child beginning in 2003 and lasting through 2007.

He is scheduled for pre-trial on March 31 at 2:30 p.m. He faces a maximum of five life sentences plus 25 years if convicted on all counts.

Greenville defense attorney David A. Rohrer has been appointed to represent Lambert.
